Maintenance Tips
Here are some suggestions to keep your fogger
in top operating condition:
- Use the intake air filter supplied with the unit. It
helps keep fog droplets and dirt out of the power head.
- Clean or replace the filter when it gets dirty.
Additional filters can be purchased from distributors.
- If the machine will be idle a week or more, drain
the tank and fog water (or an appropriate solvent) a few minutes to flush
the lines.
- If the screen on the liquid intake line should get
clogged, brush it off or blow air backwards to clear it.
- Our non-clogging nozzles rarely need maintenance;
however, if your water contains excess calcium, lime deposits may build up
over time. You can dissolve lime deposits by soaking the venturi assembly in
vinegar overnight. You do not have to disassemble the fogger. Just put 3/4
gallon of vinegar in the tank and place the front housing nose down in the
tank. This will immerse the nozzle but keep the motor dry.
Repairs (Hand Held Units)
If it is necessary to open the power head (to replace
tubing, change brushes or clean out a clogged valve), we recommend using the
tank as a temporary work station. This greatly simplifies disassembly and
reassembly. Here's how:
- Unclamp the power head from the tank.
- Remove the tank gasket from under the cover plate.
- Loosen, but do not remove completely, the four cap
head nuts around the front housing.
- Slide the tank gasket over the rear housing, flat
side first, up to the screw heads.
- Clean and dry the tank.
- Set the power head in the tank, front housing up.
- Unscrew the four cap head nuts and lift off the
front housing.
Now you can get to everything. Before removing the motor,
note the orientation and order of its mounting rings and gaskets. Replace in the
same order.
If you don't want to do your own repairs, ask your
local distributor. Some distributors keep a parts inventory and offer repair
services.
You can also get repair services from manufacturer (for
special products only). We charge only for parts (no labor) unless excessive
clean-up is required.
To send a fogger for repair, drain all liquid and clean
the outside of the unit before packing it for shipment. Use plenty of padding in
the box. Enclose your name, address and telephone number (and your fax number
and e-mail address, if available) plus a brief description of the problem.
Put your name, address and telephone number on the
shipping label as well, and ship, freight prepaid, to the address below. We do
not accept "collect" shipments, nor packages which appear to be
damaged or stained by leaking chemical.
We will estimate the repair cost and call for your
authorization before proceeding. Shipping expenses (both ways) are your
responsibility. We accept payment by check, money order, MasterCard and Visa, or
we can ship the return COD (United States only, additional charge).
Warranty repairs done at our factory are free, except
for one-way shipping (we pay return shipping on warranty repairs).
