Updates on Bella & Mika

March 17, 2008 - Adoption day!

Bella was adopted on March 17, 2008 from our local shelter, Lindsey Animal Control. She was left in the orange fields until she was pick up by an Animal Control officer on March 5, 2008. We found her online at PetFinder.com. The first thing we did when we adopted her (on a Saturday) was take her to a 24-hour vet for a complete check-up. She did not get a good check-up while in the shelter and she had a very bad rash on her belly. After many hours at the vet, we learned that she had fleas, ticks, 2 different types of worms, kennel cough and Mites that were infected and caused the rash on her stomach. She weighed only 7 pounds when we got her! It took 2 months for her to heal completely but now she is a very healthy and happy puppy!

Bella's First Sleepover!

My sister and her husband went out of town for a few weeks so Bella got to have her first sleepover with her cousin Moxie. They have been the best of friends! The problem is that when they are together, they NEVER stop playing! It is hard to keep them calm around each other. They did really good though with their sleepover! They played really hard the first day but after that, they calmed down with each other and started taking naps together!

July 25, 2008 - Spay Day

Today was not a fun day for Bella. She was spayed and for the first time in her life, was not bouncing around like she normally is. We have to keep her calm for a least 5 days which is hard for a puppy as active as her. She now weighs 46lbs.

October 3, 2008 - New Sister!

Bella got a new sister today! Our family bought an Siberian Husky from a local breeder. She LOVES her new sister. Their first meeting did not go very well. Her sister, Mika, was terrified when she met Bella and it didn't help that Bella just wanted to play with her! But after a few hours, they were best friends. They started playing tug of war with each other that night. It was very cute!

January 2009 - First Snow Day!

Today was the dogs first day in the snow. We took them up to Sequoia National Park so they could play in the snow! Mika LOVED it. She was made to play in the snow.
