Cooling Pond Algae Treatment Case Study
Project Situation
A California cement company experienced algae problems in a cooling water storage pond with a surface area of 2 acres. Filamentous algae and debris in the pond caused clogging of the screens and pumping system. The company wanted an alternative to chemical treatments to control the algae, so they contacted us.
Results
Advanced BioTech applied a combination of our environmentally safe and natural algae treatment and organic degrading products to the pond each, which helped outcompete the algae for nutrients and accelerated degradation of the organic debris. Subsequent annual maintenance treatments kept the algae under control.
